Copy protect video using copy protection of Copy Protect

     Videos are one of the most common and famous type of data which is widely used to transfer information among computer's users. In digital world, all kinds of demos, tutorials and courses are formed mostly in video format. Video data is supplied to its users for better conceptual understanding. Videos are one of the most important type of media which is not only shared among users but commercially it is sold to customers at large scale. All kinds of videos formats like mp4, avi or wmv are simply usable after copying and duplications. It is always dream of media creators that their videos files should be used only by allowed users and paid customers. But the matter of fact is this, no one care about copyrights of owner until copy protection is enforced to stop unauthorized copying and sharing of videos files.

    We have already installed Copy Protect in this computer and it can be opened through its icon form desktop. After opening, user interface is displayed in following screen shot. For the purpose of copy protection of any number of video files here, Start> button is clicked:

In next window, required video file/files are added to Copy Protect from computer. For this purpose, "Add Files" button is clicked.

A box is appeared for selection of video file/files from computer which will be added to Copy Protect. Here, we have selected a sample video file from this computer and then open button is going to be clicked in box.

Selected video file has been added and listed in Copy Protect. We can add multiple video at same time in Copy Protect but we are performing sample work using only one video. After video file has been added to Copy Protect, Next> button is clicked.

At next stage, parameters can be set regarding security and other properties. In most of the cased nothing is changed in this setting window. Just click Next> button.

    Now, destination is set for the final output of copy protected video file. Destination can be given for any place in computer or removable drive. Browse button is clicked and a box is appeared to configure path as destination. Here, we select folder of Copy Protected in D drive of This PC. After selection of destination, OK button is going to be clicked.

After selection of path "D:\Copy Protected" as destination, Next> button is clicked.

Actual processing of added video file/files is being carried out to convert them into copy protected executable form. This process will take some time depending upon the size of added videos which are being processed. Progress is shown for processing in term of percentage.

After completion of processing, a message is shown in window of Copy Protect "Completed Successfully". Added video file has been converted into copy protected executable form. At the end, Finished button will be clicked to go out from Copy Protect.

Let us check copy protected video file at destination by navigating to Copy Protected folder in D drive of This PC. Copy protected video file has been generated here and can be played from here.

    When copy protected video file is executed by opening then video is played in built-in and secured media player. This media player can be operated like any casual media player normally. Full screen of video can be accessed by double clicking in screen of media player. Whereas other features like play, pause, volume and time line, are also available in built-in media player.

If copy protected video file is copied to another directory of any other drive, then it will not work anymore. Let us check by copying protected video file using right click context menu.

    We have pasted already copied protected video file at desktop which is part of another C drive of this computer and if we open this protected video file from desktop then nothing data will be opened or displayed here. Built-in media player is showing an error box with text "Wrong File Location". We have nothing other option but to click OK button in error box.

    So, this way we can inject copy protection in normal video files making them self defendant against illegal copies of them. Copy protected videos can be used in computer only by any user, no useable copy can be leaked. Whereas protected videos files can be directly sold to customers on USB drives keeping them restrained from further distribution and sharing with other people.

    Keep one thing in mind before any commercial use of copy protected videos generated by Copy Protect, these protected videos has no defense against re-production through screen recording programs. One thing more is important to consider, copy protected executable files of videos are not digitally signed by any international organization, so false positive detection may occur by some antivirus programs. False detection by antivirus can be bypassed by just disabling it. Copy protected video files can not be used after uploading them to internet and after downloading them. Copy protection of video by using Copy Protect does not cause any disturbance in quality or performance in video playing. Overall method of video copy protection of Copy Protect is outstanding.
